Offensive Proselyting

Hola everyone!
Okay so first off let me address the subject line of my email. I knocked on one of our investigators doors and we are pretty close with him so I did that little knocking thing where you knock five times and the other person knocks back twice. So I did that and we later found out that doing that is actually offensive to the woman of the house. I was pretty much mortified. So there's that for your entertainment.
During class this week an elder in my district shared that being on a mission is the greatest blessing that you can give to your loved ones. I hope I can bless you all in some sort of way. I know you all bless me in everything you do.
I understand mostly all spanish that is verbally spoken... if it´s spoken very slowly... I can teach a lesson, pray, and talkt to the employees in the cafeteria for the most part. I´m not super good but I can get by. I found that it is very beneficial to be friends with the workers here. David brings us ice cream sometimes after dinner. so that´s pretty neat.
We had a lesson with M this week. She´s one of our investigators. She´s also our spanish teacher. We prayed to feel as though she was a real investigator and we did. It´s really amazing what prayer can do. She committed to baptism and I can tell she feels the spirit when we teach her. I love her a lot. She´s a cool lady.
ONE OF THE HERMANAS IN MY DISTRICT PEED HER PANTS WHILE TEACHING A LESSON.  Also I totally called it...My companion is gluten free. I knew this would happen. Haha she´s not annoying about it though so it´s not so bad.
Oh my companion is from Kuna, Idaho. I thought you would appreciate that mom. Also I met some girls going to Nampa on their missions. The food here is interesting. They try to do american stuff but it´s not as good as the real deal. The beans and rice and horchata are quite good though. #mexicantoots
I have an assignment for you all. Watch "Discovering the Hope of God´s Light" it´s a mormon message and it is way good. Also Alma 22 is a very good chapter. Also "Ponder the Path of Thy Feet" by Monson.
I think I might be going to the temple next week so I don´t know how emailing works when we go but I´m pretty sure we still email on Tuesday. I love you all!

Hola everyone!

So the first week here isn't so bad! The food has not given me explosive diarrhea YET. It's so beautiful here! The city is HUGE! I had no idea! So after I said goodbye to you guys in the airport, I went to my gate and sat next to a lady and her daughter and the lady was talking on the phone about mission calls and all sorts of mormon crap. I turned to her daughter and asked if the were LDS. Long story short they were super nice and they helped me get to the proper gate in Atlanta! She led this other missionary and me to the wrong gate but we felt bad because she was so nice so we just waited until she left and then went to the right one. The Lord already sent me a tender mercy just like that!
So I got to the MTC late Wednesday night. My compaƱeras are pretty cool. They're so mormon... sometimes I feel like a sinner for saying the things I do to them. I finally broke out Clarie Jessop's famous quote: poop on my chest. It needed to happen. I thought I was going to explode if I didnt say that or speak in accents. They laugh at all of my jokes though so it's pretty great. My companions name is Hermana C and my other hermanas we live with are Hermana G and Hermana G. They're more awkward than me! I did not think that could happen... another tender mercy! Haha just kidding. But they acknowledge their awkwardness so it's okay. The literally will run away if an uncomfortable situation presents itself. The other day my companion's feet hurt so she was waddling around and it looked like she pooped herself. Seriously it looked like she took a dump in her skirt. I died. When we taught our first lesson in spanish on the second day, Hermana G told him that Jesus was green... She meant to say Jesus es verdadero... still doesn't really make sense but it was the funniest thing I've ever heard and I laugh about it everyday. Also Hermana G accidentally felt up our zone leaders legs while we were playing signs. Someone has to run around the circle and tag the person who has the sign. That kind of stuff happens to her all the time. It's so funny.
So all I hear is Spanish all the time. I actually understand quite a bit now. We taught our first investigator the second day we got here... I almost peed myself I was so scared. But the gift of tongues is a real thing... The spirit is strong even when I can't understand the language. Simple testimonies are pretty cool in that way. So we taught our investigator three lessons. Guess what? He's our teacher now! I thought I would die of embarrassment and disappointment. I put a lot of heart into this guy's lessons. It's okay though because he has a real friend named Alejandro whose story he is portraying and he says that his friend receives the blessings when we pray for him.
I really love this gospel and I can´t imagine a life without it. I´m grateful that I was raised in it and that I came on a mission. I love the Lord and can´t wait to further serve him.

Con amor, Hermana Jorgensen
