Chihuahua Wings

Greetings!

Okay so this week was very interesting. My Spanish is at a bit of a standstill right meow (McKenna occasionally uses the word meow instead of the word now) due to preterite, imperfect, and irregular verbs. According to my roommates I speak Spanish in my sleep so that´s good I guess. But don´t fret my friends! One day I will not sound like a fool.

So let me start off with some fun facts about the food here. The other day we had wings. Everyone was pretty stoked about it. Naturally I was as well. I had about one or two wings when I realized strangely long hairs attached to the wings... I mean like long hairs. Strangely long. So I´m quite positive they were chihuahua legs. Yes I´m being serious. There have been a few other interesting things about el comedor but those stories shall remain untold... for now. Every night like a million cannons go off at the Catholic church down the road. ALL. NIGHT. It´s actually pretty cool. It´s for the saints or something rather.

Hermana C lost it this week and acted like a cat for a good five minutes. You thought I was strange. She sincerely apologized when she regained her composure. That was an interesting day that I would kind of just like to forget about. I get in trouble like everyday for laughing or giving people strange looks during class... oh well. Also there is a kitten here that looks exactly like GRUMPY CAT. Yeah it´s pretty neat. Hermana C always scares him away when I try to compare their likeness. She thinks it´s funny now but she probably won´t when I punch her in the neck. The other day she told me to put her in a choke hold and right when I did our sister trainers walked in our classroom for our weekly interviews. This is my life, these are my trials.

I was really sick again this week with something similar to a sinus infection. I refuse to go to the doctor because he doesn´t do anything. I mean seriously. Mom could probably do more for me right now considering she stapled Dad´s head shut this week. So I got a priesthood blessing because I couldn´t learn or read or do anything productive and I felt like a total scrub. It was a really beautiful blessing. I was promised in the blessing that my family and friends will be okay while I´m gone. I was also told that the Lord is proud of me for sacrificing this time for Him to go on a mission. And that people are waiting for me in Texas that want to receive the restored gospel. I love the priesthood and that I have the blessing of God´s power in my life. I´m very grateful.

Oh patience... That was the thing God wanted to teach me this week. I know I need it. Oh and no I do not want any comments from the Jorgensen family on this subject... Just know that I´ll have more patience when I get back. I´ve had countless experiences this week to teach me this attribute. I am truly grateful though.

I studied Mosiah 14 a lot this week. It´s pretty beautiful. Verse 5 is my favorite.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.

The Atonement is the greatest blessing in my life. It has helped me through good times and hard times. It is always there for us. Christ is always there for us. God is always there for us. Please take time to thank the Lord for this beautiful gift that we have. He will manifest the truth of it unto you by the spirit. When you feel as though you can´t take another step, kneel. Talk to our Father in Heaven. He loves you. He wants you to speak to Him as a friend. I am eternally grateful for the knowledge I have of this wonderful gospel. God is real.

Con amor, Hermana Jorgensen
