We were walking down the street in our favorite neighborhood of Houston. We saw a little Asian man walking down the street with his cane so we stopped and gave him a Bible pass-a-long card in English. He barely spoke any English but asked if it was Jesus and the bible on the card. Then he read both of our name tags. We talked to him a little bit (hoping he could understand). Then we got into our car to go to our next appointment. As we looked over at him he bowed to us! That was the first time I've ever been bowed to! It was quite exciting.
I have also had many uncomfortable experiences contacting in Walmart the past few days. There are many interesting people to be found there. I met a lady named Felicidad in the bathroom. She was quite nice.
J is progressing quite nicely. She didn't end up coming to church which was a bummer but has been reading and truly wants to become better and closer to the Lord. She is trying to talk to her husband about going to church with her so we will see how that goes. This week we taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We hope she understands the importance of baptism soon so that she can enter into that sacred covenant with God and receive the blessings.
S is coming back to church and came to our mission president's fireside on Sunday! It was awesome. It really sparked his memories of his mission and how much he loved it. He has a goal to go back to the temple soon and is reading and praying everyday! Small and simple things my friends.
I am beginning a 9 month challenge to develop more attributes of Christ. In chapter 6 of Preach my Gospel, there are 9 of the many attributes of the Savior. Our mission president has challenged us to study 1 each month. I am currently studying faith. Faith is one of the most simple attributes, but for me has been very difficult to begin developing. It is the key to all the other attributes. I have already learned so much about it in my studies. The Savior had so much faith and I hope to develop just a small portion of that.
Moroni 7:25
Wherefore, by the ministering of angels, and by every word which proceeded forth out of the mouth of God, men began to exercise faith in Christ; and thus by faith they did lay hold upon every good thing; and thus it was until the coming of Christ.
